Volunteering We are always looking for volunteers so we can further our rescue efforts. If you have some time to give please consider becoming a volunteer. Most of us work full time and have families, but we can always squeeze some time in and make a difference. There are lots of different volunteer opportunities with the Bunny Bunch - there is something for everyone. You don't have to have any experience, and it is up to you how much time you want to give. Here are some of the ways you can volunteer:     Susan & Buzz The Burrow - we have a never ending need for animal care givers, from cleaning litter boxes to giving veggies, to sweeping, grooming and socializing. The more volunteers we have, the more animals we can help. Saturdays and Sundays are very busy with the public coming in for nail trims, bunny dates, adoptions, care info and to buy supplies from our store. We always need more volunteers on the weekends. Adoption Events - we also hold adoption events at other locations and need help there too. Currently these are held in Chino Hills, Santa Monica, Huntington Beach and Tustin. Adoption Managers - With some training you can apply to become an adoption manager, which means you can screen applicants who are interested in adopting, as well as give care info and advice. Advertising - the more people that know about us the more animals we will be able to help. If you are savvy when it comes to getting the word out this is where you could help us best. Volunteer Tabi Educator - One of the most important things we do is give out care info to help people know how to properly care for their rabbit, chins and piggies. We have a training program for this for those who are interested. Events - every time we hold an event there is alot to coordinate and prepare for. We need help from being a coordinator, to running a booth, to setting up and taking down. Fundraising - we have to raise over $4000 a month to run the Burrow, so we can help prevent animals from being killed and find them forever homes. We need lots of help here! Handy "People" - there is always something that needs to be repaired, built, set up or taken down. Christine & Louise at the Burrow Mailings - we send out a quarterly newsletter, plus postcards and flyers about our upcoming events. Help is needed with sorting and mailings. Transportation - this can be from taking an animal for a vet appointment, to picking up an animal at a shelter, to picking up supplies, or even taking rabbits to their new home. Sometimes we have long trips that are needed too. Shelters - we can only take in so many animals at the Burrow, so we have programs where volunteers visit local city and county shelters. At the shelters, we make sure the rabbits are cared for and are getting lots of hay and veggies. We need photos of the rabbits so we can post them on our website to find them homes. Once we have done an adoption at the Burrow we take in a rabbit from one of these shelters. Of course, there are many more opportunities to volunteer, so if you have something you are good at that could help us please let us know. When you volunteer you will truly be making a difference in the lives of many animals. Not only do we rescue animals that would otherwise have been killed, but we educate people on how to care for their animals. We work at setting up programs to help shelters and to help people keep their animals instead of giving them up. We stay up to date with the latest in exotic animal health and work with many exotic vets. At the 2012 Pet Expo in Orange County You will meet lots of lovely rabbits, chins, guinea pigs and other small and furries. You will be around other volunteers that feel the same way you do about making a difference. It is a truly meaningful way to live your life.
